Happy 8th Birthday Hunter

Wow!!! It's been 8 years already. We can not believe that Hunter is 8 years old. Today (despite our crazy week) we had a nice simple birthday party. Hunter has been so excited about his party, we could not bear to break his heart and cancel the party. He had all his friends from the neighborhood and a few other friends come down to the pool for pizza and cake. Everyone had a wonderful time, especially Hunter! Thank you everyone for making Hunter's birthday special!

Update on Landon

We had a very big scare this past week...

If you haven't already heard, we spent most of last week (Tues even-Fri) in the hospital with Landon. He started running a fever Tues evening, so the doctor advised up to take him to the children's hospital. When we arrived his temp was 102.0. They wanted to keep him and run a lot of test to make sure everything was ok. He had to have a spinal tap and a lot of blood work. Thank the lord, everything came back negative and Landon is now back to normal. He was given IV antibiotics for the days that we were there, and once he was fever free for 24 hours, we were aloud to bring Mr. Landon home. Hunter stayed with our wonderful neighbors and Jim and I stayed up at the hospital with Landon. It's has been a crazy emotional few days, but things are finally back to normal.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for Landon. I'm so excited to report that we finally have our little man back to normal. We hope that everyone else is doing well.

Good Night

New this week...

Hello, everyone. I know I'm not doing very well at all with new post. I'm so sorry! Each day goes by so fast and is usually crazy. When Landon is sleeping, I'm either sleeping too, cleaning up the house, doing laundry, or trying to get a shower. Our day's together are just flying by.

Last weekend we had our first visitors Bammy, Aunt Ang, Ashlyn, and Bella were here. We had a wonderful time, but it went by way too fast. It was so cute to see Bella and Landon together. They are only two weeks apart, but Ang swears that Landon is bigger. They actually weigh about the same, but I think because Landon is taller, he looks bigger then Bella.

This weekend Bumpa is here to meet Landon and spend time with Hunter for his birthday. He just arrived today and the boys have a busy weekend planned. Sunday all the boys (minus Landon) are going to a Braves game. Hunter is very excited, because he just got a new braves jersey! It should be a great bonding time for the boys.

Well, Landon is such a wonderful baby. He is eating about every three hours during the day and some nights he gives me a four to five hour stretch! His favorite thing right now is his swing and some tummy time! He enjoys sleeping on his tummy during the day and on his side at night. Hunter is still being a big helper. He enjoys just sitting and holding his brother when I need him to, but if he start moving around a lot, he's ready for me to take him back. Jim is back at work now, so it's just me and the boys during the day. Once Jim is home, I usually get a little break which is nice. Jim and Hunter had Landon watching his first baseball game on TV the other night. They are already getting him into sports! I'm going to be a sports widow.

Well, I hope that everyone is doing well. I promise to try and post more often. Keep in touch!

Landon...One Week today

Wow! We have had one amazing week. I actually can not believe that Landon is a week already. We took Landon to the doctors on Sat and he is already back to his birth weight, which is wonderful! He is doing what normal newborns do... eat, poop, and sleep! He is just such a sweet little baby. Jim goes back to work tomorrow, which makes me very sad :0( He is such a wonderful daddy and we have really enjoyed our time together! Hunter is still a very proud big brother! He has been a wonderful help. He is very willing to do what he can to help us out, but his favorite thing to do is just sit and hold Landon. Well, we have had a lot of firsts this past week. I'm attaching some pics to share. Enjoy!

Love Always,

Hello, World - Landon Reece

Hi everyone - as you may already know, Landon Reece was born on Tuesday, June 24 at 10:16 p.m. He weighed in at 7 lbs., 3 ozs., and was 20.5 inches long. We got home from the hospital on Thursday afternoon, and everyone is doing fantastic.

Hunter adores his new brother - nothing makes him happier than just holding his brother, whether awake or asleep. He'd rather watch his brother than watch TV - a little miracle in itself!

Despite a little sleep deprivation, Mom is doing great. The labor went smoothly and rather quickly (about five hours from the beginning of the induction to Landon's arrival). Dad is doing well too - sleeping a little more than Mom but just as tired. We are making a good team and are enjoying getting to spend the time with our two wonderful sons. Wow, two sons - sounds so weird!

Landon does what all babies do - sleeps (sort of a lot), eats (a lot), and poops (really a lot). He's already back up to his birth weight after just four days and everything else checks out well. He is extremely alert, which makes the time he is awake even more fun.

We're looking forward to the weeks ahead - they will be filled with lots of laughs and new experiences. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes.

Very Eventful weekend, but still no baby Landon :0(

Today is my official due date and I'm STILL pregnant. I never thought that this little man would stay in here this long, especially since Hunter was born a couple of weeks early. We had a very exciting weekend, so we are actually glad Landon hung in there through the weekend, but now we are ready to see him. If you haven't heard, Hunter was in the hospital all weekend. He came home from camp on Fri with his scrotum very swollen and red. We were just going to take him to urgent care, but the doctor recommended that we go ahead and go down to the er. They thought he may have had torsion (where the vessels twist on themselves and it required immediate surgery to fix.) They got us seen very quickly, to find out that it was NOT torsion, but a bug bite that got infected. We were very happy it wasn't anything more serious. We just thought we would be given some antibiotics and be sent on our way home...but instead the doc wanted to keep him overnight to make sure he responded well to the meds (due to the big MRSA that's going around, they wanted to make sure he would get better.) So Friday night we all stayed and didn't get much sleep at all. The doctor came in on Sat to check everything out. We were hoping to get home Sat, but she wanted him to stay just one more night to make sure it got even better. So Saturday night, Jim stayed with Hunter and sent me home to get some rest just in case Landon decided to arrive at any time. Finally, Sun afternoon the doctor released us and sent us home!!! Hunter was going a little stir crazy and was so ready to be home! He is on antibiotics for the next few days and is doing GREAT!!!
So last night once things started to finally settle down, I realized Landon really wasn't moving around very much. I finally called the doctor and she said to drink a large glass of oj with ice, lay down for an hour and call back if you don't feel him move about 10 times in that hour. Well, in that hour he moved around 6 times, but not very good movements. I called her back and she said come on down to the hospital. We got Hunter over to our neighbors and headed to the hospital. We thought after all the stress of the weekend, it was stressing Landon out and it was his time to come out. Well, we got different news when we arrived at the hospital. My doctor was at the hospital and came in and checked me. I have not changed from the 2 cm that I was on Thur. Plus she said that my cervix is still very far back. She said she would go ahead and induce me, but there would be a very good chance I would end up with a c-section. Sowe decided to wait, all and all she said walk a lot and have them recheck me on Tues. Hopefully I'll change some how. She said then on Wed she will induce if I want her to.

So that's been our CRAZY weekend. We have been out walking today and are hoping for some good news tomorrow at the doctors. We'll keep everyone posted. Sorry for such a long blog, but wanted to inform everyone of the news! Wish us luck!!!
